Welcome to the professional site of the husband-and-wife team, the Neeman Piano Duo. Performing together since 2008, Edward & Stephanie Neeman have appeared at venues across the United States, Australia, and Asia. The Neeman Piano Duo is acclaimed for its versatile programming, combining breathtaking technique, elegance, theatrical flair, and a sense of fun. Following a recent performance, critic Graham MacDonald praised the duo for their “great skill and an obvious enjoyment of performing together plus a little theatre.”

Their collaborations include performances of Poulenc and Mendelssohn’s double piano concertos with the National Capital Orchestra and the Canberra Youth Orchestra, as well as collaborations with the New Zealand String Quartet and members of the Utah Symphony. They have appeared at prestigious venues and festivals, including Steinway Hall in New York, the NOVA Chamber Series in Salt Lake City, the Canberra International Music Festival, Musica Viva Australia concerts, the Elder Conservatorium Concert Series, and the Piano+ Recital Series presented by the Sydney International Piano Competition, among others.

They were recently invited to present a TEDxCanberra talk on the art of piano duet performance. Their ABC Radio interview, “The Keys to Their Relationship: Piano Duo Edward and Stephanie Neeman,” is available on the ABC Listen app.

Stephanie

Indonesian pianist Dr. Stephanie Neeman has won virtually all major piano competitions in her home country, including the first prize in the prestigious Yamaha National Piano Competition when she was only six (the youngest winner ever). She won first prizes in the Empire State International Piano Competition and the Lillian Fuchs Chamber Music Competition. She was also a top prizewinner and won the prize for the best interpretation and outstanding performance of Franz Liszt at the Liszt-Garrison International Piano Competition in the United States. Dr. Neeman is currently a piano lecturer at the Australian National University and head of the piano department at ELMS Conservatory of Music in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Edward

The Australian-American pianist Dr. Edward Neeman is a top prizewinner of numerous international piano competitions, including first prize in the Joaquín Rodrigo Competition in Madrid. He has performed with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, the Prague Philharmonic, the Madrid Philharmonia, and the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Cuba among others. His debut CD, Rachmaninoff & Sitsky, was released in 2016 to critical acclaim. He holds a doctoral degree from The Juilliard School. Dr. Neeman is currently a Piano Lecturer at the Australian National University.
